It's Almost Here
Week one is just days away from kicking off the 2008 season, with the Redskins facing the Super Bowl Champion Giants on Thursday. If you haven't yet submitted a lineup, now might be a good time to make sure everything is working right by logging into the web site and doing so.
Waiver Wire Procedures
With the first game just two days away, I thought now might be a good time to review our waiver wire procedures.
The first waiver wire period of each week ends at midnight on Wednesday. All bids to that point are then tallied.
Bidding periods then close each night at midnight until the kickoff of the first game of the week.
Players clear waivers and are eligible for pickup the week after they are released (i.e., Mike cuts Brady Quinn to pick up Kurt Warner on Wednesday before week two. Quinn is then eligible to be picked up starting with the week three bidding period).
You must bid at least one MFFL dollar to pick up a player. If you do not have any remaining MFFL dollars you cannot make any waiver wire moves. If you submit a claim without a bid the bid will be assumed to be $1 as long as your team has available currency.
If two teams bid the same amount for a player during the same bidding period the tie will be broken with league wildcard tiebreaking procedures, with the worst team receiving the player.

T-4:45
There's less than five hours to go before the kickoff of the first game of the year.
Please don't panic if the live stat updates aren't working for the game tonight. Everything should be in order, but it's often hard to tell until things actually start. I'll be monitoring the stat feed tonight to make any adjustments necessary for the live updates to come through.

Ravens-Texans game Postponed
The week two game between the Ravens and the Texans has been postponed. The game will now be played Monday at 8:30PM.
Scoring Adjustment
The NFL has adjusted Jay Cutler's yardage for week one from 299 yards to 300 yards. This gives Pushmi-Pullyu Love one additional point, making the final score of their week one game I Drink You Milkshake 27, Pushmi-Pullyu Love 25.
I always attempt to catch these scoring adjustments myself, but you are encouraged to make me aware of any changes that affect your team. This is especially important now that we incorporate yardage into our scoring.

The game was rescheduled for Nov. 9 after Reliant Stadium was severely damaged by Hurricane Ike.
The Texans' home opener was originally scheduled for Sunday, then postponed to Monday night as Ike approached the Gulf Coast. The Category 2 storm slammed into Texas on Friday night and moved into Houston early Saturday morning.
Ike tore chunks off the stadium's retractable roof and the damage couldn't be fixed in time for the game, said Shea Guinn, the president and general manager of Reliant Park.
The new date also affects the Cincinnati Bengals' schedule.
Houston was originally scheduled to play the Bengals on Nov. 9. Now, those teams will play on Oct. 26 and Cincinnati will take its bye week on Nov. 9, when the Texans now play the Ravens.
Baltimore had an open date on Nov. 9 on its original schedule.
Schedule Updated
The NFL schedule on the web sit has been updated to reflect the changes made due to the postponement of the Ravens-Texans game. All teams and players should now display the correct schedule.

Week Four Reminder
Just a reminder as we approach week four:
We're now into the time of year with NFL bye weeks. We've instituted a new rule this year which will automatically sub in a bench player that scores in negative points for a player who was started during his bye.
Owners who start players on bye are also subject to intense public mocking, though this is not in the league rules.
